Another floor, another ceiling. Counting stairs with double meanings...

So yesterday I was all worried about the Mistress of Doom, because she hadn't commented on my blog (she usually comments in the morning), so I called her up at work. She wasn't there. While my inner voices were whispering "constant vigilance" in my ear, my mind raced with all the possibilities: she could be stuck in a vat of peanut butter somewhere by some yet unknown enemy, or maybe someone had sabotaged her car, or maybe she was on a secret mission that I just HAD to hear about once completed. So...after a few moments of my imagination running wild, I decided I'd call her home--where she was. No, she was not stuck in a vat of peanut butter, or had had her car sabotaged, nor was she on a secret mission :( She was on muscle relaxants and rambling on about phones, 5's and Hagan. In her delusional state, I tricked her into telling me the code to her secret vault/chamber where she is keeping Faramir. Unfortnately, altered states of mind usually supply truthful statements and she confessed that Faramir is rather happy in his new home and his new lover (why he even thought about the little hobbits, he doesn't know).

Oh, and I received this message the other day at work:

You will experience the desktop computer being remote controlled by network administration and also a reboot of your machine remotely. Do not be alarmed, this is a built in feature for administrators to perform the necessary function required to update all machines on the DOMAIN. You can tell when the machine is controlled by Network Administration because you will loose all functionality over the machine, mouse cursor will move by itself and control panel and other desktop icons will open and close by themselves. This is an indication that the machine is in control of Network Administration administering the security patch.

ADDENDUM 1 (added 11:41am):
Here is another goofy story that I had copied a while back and forgot to post:

Man arrested after body found in luggage
Date: Wednesday, February 18, 2004 9:34:18 PM EST

LONDON, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- British police have arrested an unidentified man in the death of a woman whose body was found stuffed into a suitcase, Sky News reported Wednesday.
The body of Adeeba Ahmed, 27, was discovered Tuesday along the River Thames in southwest London, inside a suitcase.
Ahmed's fully clothed body was found by a passerby after the black Samsonite case had split partly open. The Pakistani national was a check-in assistant at Heathrow Airport.
She was last seen Valentine's Day after her husband dropped her off for a hairdresser's appointment.
An autopsy revealed the woman had been strangled. The body had not been dismembered and had not decomposed.
Police believe her body was dumped elsewhere before its discovery.
The 28-year-old suspect was arrested early Wednesday and was being held on a charge of suspicion of murder.
