Had we but world enough and time...
So I am departing from my usual song quotes to quote a short story I read last night. It seems I have heard of this quote somewhere else, but if it had been previously published, it would have to have been in quotations--and it wasn't. Strange. The story is "Vaster Than Empires and More Slow" by Ursual K. Le Guin. It is the most terrifying story I've ever read. I literally held back a scream when the character in the story was startled. I couldn't sleep and I didn't want to leave my room because I knew if anyone startled me or anything moved, that I would probably jump and scream my head off. It is only 31 pgs long and is a definite MUST READ. I think it is the best Science Fiction piece I have ever read, even when you consider Bradbury and all the others. Wowzers...
At any rate. One of the replacements and John are gone today so I have a computer. Yay! I was pretty happy about it, then I discovered that I might not have anything to say, but I figured if I started writing, I'd probably come up with something.
Gah! I am having to work. This sucks! I thought my replacements were supposed to be doing this now...I mean, tomorrow IS my last day in the office! (No--that does not mean I'm leaving this week.) Oh well, I guess it makes the days go by faster so...I can't complain.
Um...that's it. I better go. I hope this blog has intrigued and thrilled you all. Ciao.
