surrender then start your enginesWhere the hell did this weekend go?! I swear it was just Friday night...*sigh* Oh well. In headlining personal news, I became a bonafide workaholic/adult this weekend when I
brought my work home with me--and on a holiday weekend nonetheless. It wasn't much; only took me about an hour, but still--it was the fact that I actually brought it home in the first place. I sure hope this doesn't start a trend, as I have plenty of school work to occupy my evenings. Which reminds me that tonight, before I go to bed, I am going to have to set school work goals for every day, to make sure that I don't slack and think, "Oh, I can do it tomorrow, because I really want to do [insert fun and thrilling social activity here]..."
Not much happened this weekend. Friday was ... Forgot what we did Friday. Oops. Well, Saturday I spent doing some really old catch-up reading for my seminar. That night we went out to the club though, to take advantage of the last weekend in which anyone will be able to smoke in any bar/restaurant. The indoor smoking ban takes effect on the 31st. It is sad how resigned smokers have become. Every once in a while one, or a few, of us will get indignant and defensive for a few moments, but then it is right back into the resigned, broken mode. Smoking in America is a crime and I am a criminal. BUT--(since I always like to look at both sides of the coin) by the same token, at least when I go out to the bar or club I won't come home smelling like an ashtray and feeling like my lungs are going to pack up and move out. It will also make it a lot easier to quit once I try (yet) again. All that having been said, I still wish that people would not automatically judge others on whether or not they smoke. I think it's a bad habit, but we are all human, ne? Let's all get along. *feels like a total hippie right now*
Today, Nailz and I went to the grocery store to get a ham for Easter dinner, but can you believe that they were
closed? I forget how religious the U.S. is. I know I've lived here pretty much my whole life, but it still surprises me how Christian holidays are held so...well...sacred. Anyway, so we had nothing to do, so we took a little adventure. I will leave it to
Nailz to tell of that. After our little foray, we came home and searched our apato for food (since we needed more than just a ham) for dinner. We came up with the last bit of meat in our freezer (boneless pork chops), canned sweet potatoes, deviled eggs and egg noodles. Heh. Yeah. It was really good. I even took a picture, because I have this weird thing for taking pictures of food. Really. Just ask any of my friends. I am unashamed when I take pictures of food in fancy restaurants. I believe it's because food is so transient that something must be done to preserve the sacred and individual memory of such tasty delights. *goes into great food of the past reverie*
Ah. Anyway, there was my rambling session for the week. Now for
a link. (I haven't found much of interest besides what is already linked on the side there, with the exception of the always interesting Miss Katharine's blog which featured all kinds of Peep amusement links.
Check it.) I wonder if Nailz knew that she had
merchandise? If not, Nailz, maybe you should start demanding a cut of the profits. *sly grin* Ok, nightie night folks!
