everyone wants my sweet and sour, babySO. It's Monday night. I usually have a class at this time, but the class time has been set aside for "conferences" with the professor. Only 3 more weeks of class and then the semester is over. Thank god. I'm getting excited already. Anywho--I'm waiting for my turn with the professor, so I thought I'd hang out in the computer lab and blog what I didn't get to blog yesterday.
This weekend was pretty nice, I guess. Friday night we watched Nailz's lair burn to the ground. Always fun. Nailz neglected the booze, but I didn't. Unfortunately, I had to finish it before I actually went to warm myself by the flames. If you'd like to see pics of the blaze, see Nailz's blog. She either has them posted now, or will in the near future. Your welcome Nailz, for all my stunning photographic feats. *smarmy grin*
Saturday morning, I had my weekend class. What a ball-buster this class is going to be. Luckily, I don't have balls to bust. Yay! One of the readings for the class talked about the "ideal" audience that TV producers have in mind when they create shows. It is theorized that because TV is a one-way communication, it takes away the power of the watcher--that the audience is left to see where they fit themselves into the "ideal" that producers are aiming at and/or assimilate. I am proud to say that I don't fit anywhere into the ideal audience of TV producers--and I don't think there is any chance of me assimilating. I have to admit that as I get older, the more and more I dislike TV. I don't mean that in a snobbish way, it's just that nothing on TV interests me and it makes me feel gross and numb to sit in front of a TV and watch what has been decided for me as the best programming.
After class, Nailz and I went to the fabric mecca. It was wonderful. We spent
a lot of time in there searching for fabrics for Nailz's garb. It was fun, and I am happy to say that I contributed to her new fabric stockpile. Yay! On the way home we stopped by Super Target and got some rubbermaids for storage. I consider it as "leveling up". I mean that I have taken the important step of getting rid of the cardboard boxes that we used as a lamptable. I transferred all the dishes out of the cardboard box and put them all in the big blue rubbermaid, so now
that is our lamptable. I have moved a tiny peg up the furniture ladder--one step closer to my New Year's resolution of making the apato look less like a college dorm room. (Sort of.) Go me!
We went to see
Kung Fu Hustle at the UA Pavillion. This movie is the most original Kung Fu movie I have seen. It totally rocked my world--especially with the reference to
The Shining that no one else besides Nailz and I got. We laughed while the rest of the audience was silent. Oh well, add it to the long list of movie moments that Nailz and I have found humorous when no one else has. *grin*
Oooh! OOOh! I got a new purse this weekend--FINALLY. I have been cursing my other purse since the moment I used it. I am very picky about purses, however...I hate it when they have the built in wallet. It drives me nuts, don't know why--just does. And I don't want a huge, bottomless pit purse (like my former purse). And it has to have a long strap on it, because I don't like the shoulder bags--I can't have both of my hands free, because if I bend down while having a shoulder bag, it always falls off my shoulder. This one I can sling across my chest and be able to bend over to pick stuff up without having the hassle. Haha!
The only bad thing about the weekend was that I flushed the ignition key to my car down the toilet. Yup. St00pid mistake. It's a long story involving shit, so I won't get into it. All that matters is that I couldn't find my spare key, so I had to have Nailz drive me to the dealership today to get new keys cut. *sigh* But it's all good now. Anywho--that's about it, I guess. I suppose I should see if the professor is ready for me.
I apologize for such a long, boring (BORING) blog. I was much more in the mood to write it yesterday, but didn't have the time. I will post my own special pic later tonight when I get home, and maybe that will add some [bad] humor to this entry. Ciao for now!
