enjoy your body--use it every way you canI sit here comforting myself with Baz Luhrman's "Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen" and a quart of Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey. Tonight, I went into a Target dressing room to try on some hip-looking pants. I hate it when they have two mirrors in the dressing room at just the right angles from each other so that you can get a really clear view of your backside. Ugh. For anyone who knows me, I am not overweight--but the lighting and the mirrors--I practically screamed at the sight. You know, I've never heard anyone say that they like the lighting in the dressing rooms, so why don't stores do more to make the lighting make people look good. Afterall, don't more people buy clothes when they look good? Or is the idea to make every woman who steps into a dressing room feel so shitty about herself that she buys clothes just to hide her naked body? Or maybe...*goes into conspiracy mode*...all the retail stores are in cahoots with the dieting industry, so they purposely use lighting that makes women consider hopping onto another fad diet bandwagon?
Well, I am comforted now. Chunky Monkey is SOOO good. And Baz has cheered up my spirit, so off to bed with me!
