i see us all as something, but nothing like we truly are

Uf-da! *laughs* I took today off from work as a vacation day because I had a lot of unfinished business from the weekend. Staining wood takes a lot more time than I thought (at least 2 hours between coats and 24 hours between stain and finishing coats) and also requires a lot more coats of pre-stain, stain and polycrylic than I had previously realized (6 coats of stuffu all together). So finishing up all the stages of staining the wood for the plant shelf was my main objective today. I did finish the recommended three coats of polycrylic, so now all stations are go for assembly. I'm hoping to get it all put together before the 21st so that I can use it as another bargaining chip in getting my parents to stop by the apato to meet my kitty Murphy while they are in town for the wedding on the 22nd. My mother is strangely resistant to visiting the apartment...

I also did some major cleaning in the kitchen (to include mopping the floor), picked up the living room a bit (not much though), did 2 loads of laundry and finally cleaned my room. Around 7pm, I convinced Nailz to drop me off at the bike shop so I could ride my newly tuned-up bike home. It is sad to say, but the ride home from the bike shop was this year's maiden voyage for the bike. *guilty* Now that it is fixed and tuned up, I hope to start riding my bike to yoga, tai chi and swimming. I am slowly conquering my fear of city traffic, so that is good.

Pretty boring day, though one that was good. I am glad I got some stuff done, as this weekend I am away on business, so I won't get any time to do anything then. I'm contemplating taking my sewing machine with me this weekend and setting it up in my room. I usually get released around 4 or 5pm and then there is nothing for me to do, so maybe I can do the alterations to my dress on Saturday night...

Anywho, I guess that is it. Why is it that productive days are often the most boring to tell people about?
