share some greased tea with meSo - packing, packing, packing. I took today off from work and I hope that I used it well. Most of this three-day weekend was used to pack. We did get out a bit and go to Barnes & Noble to sell some books and what they didn't take we donated to the public library. I also sold 25 CDs to Cheapo for a
whopping $8.30. I feel violated in some unspeakable way. Curses on you, Cheapo! We also made two separate drop-offs to Goodwill. Tomorrow, I have another load to drop off after work. It feels good to purge. On my end, a lot of the stuff I am getting rid of is stuff I didn't even know that I had, so I don't feel like I am really losing anything except extra, hidden baggage.
I also spent a few hours this weekend amping up my search for a new job. I updated my Monster.com resume and just today it was viewed 14 times by prospective employers. In between packing this week, I am actually going to apply to a couple of jobs specifically, instead of just having my resume viewable. I think I'm going to give Monster a shot until after the move is finished, but after that I will probably start searching for employment through other means in addition to Monster. I'm debating whether or not to go to the temp agency that originally found my current job and giving them very specific criteria and seeing if anything pops up.
Speaking of employment, I will also be turning in applications for seasonal employment to a few choice retail shops to see if I will have any luck earning some extra cash (and an employee discount wouldn't be bad coming up on the holidays, either).
So yeah. That's the news. Too bad, it's all business - I haven't really had much time to do anything exciting. Then again, all this change should be exciting (especially if I can get a new job before the end of the year), but it is really just sort of stressful and tiring.
Thank you to everyone who commented on my last written blog - I really appreciate your cheers of support. I will do my best with your encouragement!
