on striking while the iron is hot

So today was a big day for me. Work was normal, but I finally got the cahones to order the laptop I've been eyeing for the last 4 months. The price got all the way down to $879 with some pretty great features (namely that it has an OS that works). I felt that I had to order it now, because the other two laptops that I had been keeping watch on were no longer available after the Windows Vista release. Not only that, but there were only a few laptops in my price range that still came with Windows XP installed. I simply had to order this one before stock ran out and was replaced with Vista-infested machines. I have to say up until now I really have been taking for granted my OS. After hearing about the many trials and tribulations that new Vista users have to put up with, I feel almost grateful for XP.

I also purchased my first mp3 player - because I've never wanted an iPOD. I am pretty excited for both, but have a bit of shoppers guilt. I just keep telling myself that there really was no better time - especially for avoiding Vista.

Here are a couple of links from today. Enjoy!

This literally brought tears to my eyes.

This made me laugh (out loud).

This is going to me someday. Gross....
