i dig it like a grave

I start out this entry with a very beat thing to say. I said this phrase while in Japan, strolling the Imperial Palace gardens with Nailz, and it stuck with me.

The travelogue for Japan is almost done (I think). Nailz has it right now and she is going to make any final changes and additions. It will be linked to here, but will actually be posted at our LiveJournal account along with a few pictures.

Today is a momentous day here. *rolls eyes* There is going to be a huge concert that will be web-cast live. They have been preparing for DAYS. It is strange. The more hyped up everything is, the more I feel like pretending nothing is going on and I even feel kind of defiant and annoyed. I don't particularly like all the artists here and am only really interested in one. All the others I could not care less about. I think it is the fact that I prefer things to be routine and for things to stay quiet and I always become recalcitrant when it comes to things that are so hugely hyped. I do realize that it is really nice of these famous people to do this for us over here, but really. Bret Michels came here to play and it was AWESOME - not hyped at all and one of the best shows I have ever been to. I like it when there is less hype. Sad is that I am most upset by the inconvenience all this causes me - I just want to do my job and then go home. Jeez....

Not much else is going on lately. I get up, I go to work, I eat, I go to sleep. The only thing that really sticks out to me the past couple weeks is that I finished reading Eldest by Christopher Paolini, the 2nd in the Eragon series and am super excited to read the third. I pre-ordered the third book, Brisingr, from Amazon for less than $20 (and it's hardcover too!), which is due out in September of this year. So - something to look forward to on that end, eh?
