jump out, jump out - get your groove on

Don't know when the last time I updated this was. I am on the super slow wireless internet, so I dare not try to go to any extra steps lest I be kicked off unexpectedly and unable to gain access again. *sigh*

Not much has been going on lately. Same day, different panties...(a favorite saying of Nailz's) I am rocking out to Weezer's Maladroit album, so it can't be all bad, ne?

I have been doing a bit more photography than usual. I just sent out three rolls of film to a nice lab in Santa Barbara, CA. I am looking forward to seeing the fruits of my labors. The rolls are full of "artsy-fartsy" stuff, so we'll see if any of my experimental techniques worked how I wanted them to. I took one whole roll of fire pictures. It was a 200 ISO roll, so I'm not sure if the fact that it was not more of a fast film will be good or bad. The fire was at night and I tried a bunch of different f-stops and shutter speeds, so we will see what happens. I tried looking on the internet for tips on taking pictures of fire, but was unsuccessful. If any of the pictures turn out well, I will post them here.

For those who don't know - I've been borrowing my Dad's old Minolta SRT101 film camera. I'm in love with the thing and cart it practically every where with me just in case there is a picture opportunity. I recently looked online for the same or similar model camera, but have not had much luck except for one that was for $220. I called my Dad to see if that was a reasonable price. He said he could give me a much better deal - the camera will be part of my inheritance and in the meantime (hopefully a very long time) I could use it for the most part of the year and he would use it when he went on trips to take nature photos. When I go home this summer, we are going to go birding together and also try some nighttime astronomy photos as well. I'm excited to do that! I'll have to find a telephoto lens, but I look forward to that as well.

Other than that - not much going on. I have been looking into going to grad school - but that is a few years down the line, as I have to figure out 1) if I really want to, 2) how I'm going to get in with a lower GPA than usual and 3) how I'm going to pay for it.
