a life uncommon

0840 hrs:
I'm determined to write down a few things before I get so involved in work that I forget them. So - here goes:

Last night, I had a dental appointment. I had to have 2 spots of possible dental decay checked on. Turns out one spot needed to be filled and then the dentist discovered another cavity in one of my wisdom teeth. Nothing major, but I had one filling put in last night and had to make another appointment for the other one. I can't recall ever having been so afraid of pain before as I was last night. All of these cavities in recent years is confounding because I have good oral hygiene habits and I don't drink sodas or sugary drinks, so I'm really curious as to why I would only have had 2 cavities in the first 28 years of my life and then all of a sudden have 6 filled in the space of 1 year. Anywho, due to the dental work last night, my mouth is a bit tender this morning. Harumph....

I woke to some really strange dreams this morning. It seems that I still haven't graduated from dream high school, because I had a dream where I was back in my old school and there were a few of my classmates present. I was really interesting. Usually the dreams are bad dreams, but this time it was ok. This time I wasn't the one being picked on or scared of getting beat up. This time, I was the one they had to fear getting beat up by. It was one of those dreams where you are back in high school, but you're the age you are in real life, so having to attend feels like a punishment. I really hated having to be there. The coolest thing about the dream was that Janet A. was in it. In the dream she was the kind of girl was way too cool for school and we had gone out for a cigarette with Nicole and a few others and on the way back in, Janet just kept her cigarette with her and then snubbed it out right in front of the teacher outside the classroom door. The class was completely disorganized and most people completely ignored the teacher or had their heads down on their desks and sleeping. This was understandable, as the teacher was reading books aloud to us. Strange, eh?

And the last thing that I didn't want to forget to blog about was one of the things I noticed this morning that I love about winter. I love the bare branches of the trees and the cold pastels of a clear morning sky as the sun comes up. Everything looks so bare and crisp. Now all I'd want is some real snow - but maybe not until after the Thanksgiving weekend, eh?

1047 hrs:
Today is going fairly slow. It's probably because quite a few people have the day off. Seeing as my work load depends on them being at work, my work load this morning has been very light. Glad I have Friday off - I'm sure that would be unbearably slow...

Yesterday, I shared a home-organization tip I'd thought of this weekend with the ladies in the office and they reacted like I was a genius. I have to admit that the tip is pretty amazing and helpful, but I couldn't possibly be the first person to think of it. Nailz thought it was awesome as well. Now - if only I could copyright or get paid for that idea. But I couldn't - it's common sense. It is one of those things where once you hear it, you think, "Why didn't I ever think of that?" Heh. I feel as if I have gained esteem in the female home-related realm. Seems I can never speak to anything related to home affairs while at work because I'm not married and I don't have any kids and the ladies dismiss my interjections quickly. NOW - I've gained a bit of respect. *head getting bigger by the second*

1340 hrs:
Not much to add. The rest of the day seems to be speeding by. Work has been steady since 11am or so. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday weekend!!
