does it always look so gray before the fall?

0824 hrs:
We have a coffee ninja in our office. I'm sure most people would hear "coffee ninja" and think of that mysterious someone who drinks all the coffee, but no one knows who it is. This is not the case with our office. In our office, the coffee ninja is the person who makes a full pot of the weakest coffee imaginable. A cow-orker and I have been trying to catch this coffee ninja in action. No luck. We were struck again this morning by their weak coffee attack. The only defense against these kinds of attacks is to get to the break room before the coffee ninja has the opportunity to get there.

I'm sipping on a cup of said weak coffee. If it weren't for my creamer, I'm pretty sure I'd be able to see to the bottom of my cup. I might actually have to pour it down the drain. My god - I long for strong coffee!

0957 hrs:
Having a really hard time this morning staying awake. I blame the coffee ninja for the slow start to the day. Because the coffee ninja struck, but no one wanted to be rude enough to pour out the coffee-water, we walked to the gas station across the street and got coffee there. Everyone in this area must be jonesing for coffee too, because 3 out of 5 coffee machines were completely out. The only coffee left was the regular roast - the medium and dark were empty. I think I might have died a bit inside.

I used some of the flavorings and creamer that the gas station provides free of charge. Because I'm attempting to be mindful of what I consume, I used the sugar-free syrup. Here's my newly-formed opinion: BLECH!! It is horrible! The after taste is the worst!! From now on, I will only put real sugar and high-fructose-corn-syrup-based sweeteners in my coffee. Just say no to aspertame (or whatever that chemical crap is)!

Another part of my sleepiness stems from the fact that I went to bed around midnight. I didn't go to bed until then because earlier in the evening, I had been attacked by a nap and succumbed to it until after 8pm. It didn't help that Murphy was so warm and snuggly.

I just got approval to take the 20th off. I'm using the "floating" holiday we get for Martin Luther King Jr Day so that I can watch the inauguration events. I've never watched a Presidential Inauguration before and this one (even if it is boring) will be historic. I've gotta see it. It will be my first day off in 2009 besides New Year's Day. How exciting! I'm sure I'll be doing a little bit of celebratory imbibing as well. :D

Well, just about to post this. I gabbed a lot today on here. This is surprising considering how much of the day was spent in a blur just trying to keep my eyes open. Also surprising is that I actually got quite a bit done and started on a couple of back-log issues.
