pick yourself up, it's a brand new day, so turn yourself around to the sun*

0830 hrs:

Another Monday. Not that I particularly mind. I had drill this weekend, so coming back to a job where I actually have a purpose and something to actually DO all day is refreshing. Of course, I think laying in my bed sleeping would also probably be fairly refreshing. :D

My dear Readers, please forgive me. I had forgotten to mention last week that the Friday before last, none other than Jo-L phoned me and left me a voice mail message (this after I went to a fabulous happy hour with my cow-orkers and made great eye contact and conversation with the ever-hot Mr. M). I was pretty shocked, but really (deep down) very pleased. It's not that I want anything to do with Jo-L - it's just that lately I have been feeling a significant ebb in self esteem, so it was nice to be reassured that there was at least one man out there (that wasn't crazy or creepy) that is attracted to me.

As mentioned before, I had drill this weekend. I always end up so tired at the end of drill weekends, so yesterday after I got home I did a bit of cleaning and then took a long bath. I waxed my eyebrows, exfoliated my feet and put on a mint julep face mask and then after the bath I smothered my skin in body butter. It felt awesome!! And, I woke up feeling a bit more ready for the week than normal.

Today's mission after work is to go outside and take the rest of a roll of color film so I can drop it off for development tomorrow. I was the official photographer for a retirement ceremony yesterday, so I am anxious to see if they turned out. I was so nervous and my flash wasn't working very well, so we'll see...

1009 hrs:

On a conference call. Most of the stuff being discussed has nothing to do with me. I have to wait patiently for my turn. -__-

This morning started out pretty crappy, but the day is slowly getting better.

Went through this weekend's receipts this morning during my break and came across my grocery bill. Feels like forever since I announced the Grocery Titan. This week it was hard to choose. In terms of total price, the bag of navel oranges comes out on the top at $2.50 (on sale), but in terms of actual raw cost, the title of Grocery Titan would have to go to ... the 1 "Jazz" apple I bought. At $2.49/lb, this one apple cost me a whopping $1.27! But I've never heard of this type of apple, so I would like to try it. I feel like an apple connoisseur...

Interestingly, I think this week's Grocery Saver would be the navel oranges. One bag (probably about 3 or 4 lbs of oranges) was only $2.50. Cub was having a sale and it is really worth it!

I also got a bit of a shock when I reached for a package of beef liver in the frozen meat section. A pound of liver used to be one of the cheapest forms of meat available, usually costing a little over a $1/lb. When I bought the 1 lb package of liver this weekend it was $2.29! Though it is still not the most expensive meat, it is still quite a jump....

Well, the day is almost over. Thank goodness!! My contacts are driving me crazy today. Usually I wear (one of my three pairs of) glasses, but I've decided to mix up "my look" even more by wearing contacts here and there. I am so glad that I brought my rewetting drops with me to work! Otherwise, I would go crazy rubbing my eyes...

Something I forgot to mention earlier was that this morning when the alarm was going off, I thought it was Sunday and that I had to get up for drill. I was totally dreading getting up until I realized that it was really Tuesday. This made me happy because it means there are only 2 more days in this work week. I'll be taking a 4-day weekend (woohoo!) for Easter. I am looking forward to the change of scenery and to not being at any type of work for 4 days in a row. In the last 5 weeks, I have only had 4 days off, so I think it's time to let loose a little. XD

Guess that's about it. Ciao for now!
