i know exactly what i want and who i want to be*

Went on a trip to Tohoku, Japan this past week, but took the journal with me.  Here are the catch-up journal entries along with today's.

January 9, 2013
Q: Was today typical?  Why or why not?
A: No.  Today I was traveling with a friend to Tohoku.  I rode a train through an under-sea tunnel, rode a bullet train, saw an iron tea pot maker factory, ate 39 cups of wanko soba... Great day, but not typical.

Q: Write down something that inspired you today.
A: The cold buildings at the historic village in Tono inspired me to be thankful for modern housing (well, kind-of-modern, at least) during winter.  It was SO cold...

Q: Today you lost ______.
A: Today I almost lost my patience with my travel companion.  It was like traveling with a whiny, hormonal teenager.  My patience can only be stretched so far.  And honestly, I have mostly lost my respect for this person as an adult.

Q: What's your favorite accessory?
A: Definitely scarves.  Even without a hat to go with.  Scarves instantly add more class (and warmth!) to an outfit.  This is part of the reason why I love winter so much.

January 13, 2013
Q: Where do you want to travel next?
A: (I totally groaned when I read this question - having just come back from a kind-of-stressful vacation.)  I want to try to go to Shikoku.  Hopefully this spring?

TODAY - January 14, 2013
Q: Are you a leader or a follower?
A: As the saying goes, "Lead, follow, or get out of the way."  I tend to just get out of the way.  :)  It's much easier to just do your own thing without wanting/expecting people to follow you.

*not really, but this song has been stuck in my head today...
