no matter the day, you and i will find a way

May 10, 2013 (金)
Q: How did you start your day?
A: By hitting snooze the requisite number of times.  (4)

May 11, 2013 (土)
Q: How do you want to be remembered?
A: As someone who tried many things. Someone sincere, hard-working. I want to say "kind", but I don't think I am very kind...

May 12, 2013 (日)
Q: What are you exploring?
A: Ways to get to bed earlier.

May 13, 2013 (月)
Q: Who loves you today?
A: The office lady. But she always loves me.  :) We had a good conversation today.

May 14, 2013 (火)
Q: What makes a good enemy?
A: Someone stupid - so that you can always get the better of them. Heh. -->A child proof cap.

May 15, 2013 (水)
Q: What do you consider to be your biggest achievement?
A: Having thus far not inadvertently gotten myself killed. I'm done some stupid stuff - my guardian angels must work overtime...  -->Getting the cap off of the goddamned fixer bottle.

May 16, 2013 (木)
Q: What was your favorite day this week?
A: Well, it's not over yet. Tuesday was pretty good, if I remember correctly, but I bet tomorrow will win because it's Friday. And Friday is always good.  -->The ones where I didn't struggle to open a childproof cap for two hours!

May 17, 2013 (金)
Q: Today you got rid of ____.
A: My wrong impression of two people. One person turns out to be a troll and the other quite nice. Funny how first impression can be so wrong.  --> The childproof cap on the fixer!

May 18, 2013 (土)
Q: If you could go back in time and change something, what would it be?
A: I wouldn't change anything. Is that weird? No regrets...though I guess I might go back and not start smoking. That was one thing okay to regret, I think.  --> Cutting the childproof cap off of the fixer from the damned start.

May 19, 2013 (日)
Q: What's the most creative thing you've done recently?
A: Making a pinhole camera out of a Pringles can and then figuring out how to make it work with film.  --> Nope. It was figuring out how to get the goddamned fixer bottle open so that I could develop said film.

Random Ramble:
Recently I got it into my head to finally get around to developing all of the black and white film I have laying around that needs to be developed.  I had been avoiding doing it because I knew that my developer and fixer were in no longer good (well, to be fair, I made them work well after they should have expired 3 years ago!).  I knew that I had to mix up some fresh stuff.  So I tried to do just that.  Everything went fine with the developer, but when it came to getting the fixer concentrate bottle open, it was another matter.  It had one of those child-proof caps on it (for good reason!), but something was wrong and it wouldn't open. I tried all of my usual ways to get something open - wearing rubber gloves, damp cloth, running the lid under hot water, banging it on the counter top, different angles, different pressures.  Finally, I looked up on the internet how to get open child-proof caps. The jammed toothpick and push-pin methods both failed to work. It had been nearly two hours of almost constant struggling to get the damned thing open, so finally I just sawed the outer cap off with a serrated kitchen knife and gave a triumphant "HA! MOTHERF*CKER!!" yell.  In celebration, I went back and changed all of my entries for the past week to reflect just how much of a trial it was getting into the fixer was.

After all that, I actually didn't have any energy left to develop the film, so maybe some evening this week when I have energy.  (I'm recovering from some fierce cold/flu right now and I'm lucky if I can stay awake for five hours at a time...)
