Random Ramble:
So it's been a while. One thing that has been rolling around in the ol' noggin lately is how much a person's subconscious and conscious thoughts can shape that person's decisions and life-path even when they don't realize it. When I was in college, I was a really common kind of person. I didn't have any interesting things about me. This idea really bothered me. All of my friends had something interesting about them: being gothic, being in the SCA, studying something really cool (not English), having traveled overseas, being super-smart, etc. But me? I was just a plain Jane - nothing interesting had happened to me in my life and I had never pursued anything "different".
Well, now I am very much the opposite - in fact, maybe I've done/do too many different things. No one wants to listen to me ramble about my experiences or strange, uncommon knowledge. But it's interesting that I turned out this way - I never picked any of my actions or interests with the conscious thought of "well, THIS will certainly make me interesting". Even I think I'm interesting. Which is really saying something. Haha! Well, hopefully my friends and family won't find me terribly self-centered - I'll try my best to remind them (by listening) that I think they are interesting. (Because no one wants to feel like a bore.)
