i don't mind
I have become one of those people. There are many kinds of "those people", but the kind that I'm referring to is the one who appears to be looking for something along the side of the highway. Recently, I got an oil change in the city and then when driving home, I noticed something on my car appeared to be loose and waving around. When I got home, I found that it was a part of the front bumper/grill had come loose; half of it was still attached and half of it was free to blow in the wind. I tried to snap it back on, but didn't really have the time to fiddle with it much, so I saved working on it for another day.
A few days later, as I was driving home from the city, the emblem blew off. Then, as I was wondering if the rest of it would last until I got home, the molding flew off into the ditch behind me. I was so stunned and thankful that no one was driving behind me that I didn't pay close attention to where it came off.
I decided to try to look for it. My car doesn't look as bad as I thought it would without the molding and emblem, but I would prefer to have it back on the car. So in the past week, I have taken to methodically searching the side of the interstate for the big piece that flew off. I haven't found the piece yet. I'm beginning to wonder if this is like finding a needle in a haystack...
I have become one of those people.
