it's when Heaven turns to black and Hell to white

So Nailz has been secretly meme-ing. *shock-u* I retaliated by ganking it. As I write this, both pets are trying to get to the left-over spinach dip I am eating. They shall not gain access!

Here comes the meme action:

1. Your ex is on the side of the road on fire. What do you do?
Depends on which one. Most likely, I would swerve a little and throw some dirt on
them - to help smother the fire of course. <_< >_>

2. Your best friend tells you she is pregnant. What is your reaction?
Call the Pope - I bet the Catholic Church would like to know about all miraculous
conceptions.

3. When is the last time you wanted to punch someone in their face?
It's been a while...It helps that I'm on "vacation".

4. Congratulations! You just had a son. What's his name?
Something he will definitely get made fun of for.

5. Congratulations! You just had a daughter. What's her name?
Clare II

6. What are you craving right now?
company or motivation to stop wasting time

7. What was the last thing you cried about?
the ending of the Hana-Kimi manga series

8. When you buy something and your change is a penny. Do you keep it or tell them to
keep the change?
I keep it. I sound like an oba-chan saying this, but every penny counts!

9. What color is your tissue box?
I'm too lazy to look.

10. Do you have a ceiling fan in your room, and if so, is there dust on that fan?
What sort of question is this? Honestly! Don't all ceiling fans have dust on
them??

11. What is the last voicemail you received about?
Uh...*tires to think hard* I think it was from Cathy asking about how to get to
the apato.

12. Scariest thing you've experienced in the last year?
Gas prices.

13. What do you order when you go to Taco Bell?
Chicken Quesadilla with a side of sour cream and two mild sauce packets. 1
sprite/7-up

14. Have you ever had a garage sale?
Yes, but it wasn't very successful.

15. When was the last alcoholic beverage you had?
Friday at Happy Hour

16. Are you happy right now?
Hm. I guess so. Happy is so vague.

17. Who came over last?
Cathy

18. Do you miss anybody right now?
My friend Erin because she is in my hometown right now and I wish I could go down
there to see her.

19. Dark or light jeans?
Dark.

20. What was the last movie you watched at home?
*strains brain* Maybe it was Hot Fuzz??

21. What is in your pocket?
Nothing right now because I'm in PJs, but otherwise, I always have stuff in my
pockets.

22. Who introduced you to your [significant other]?
All my others are significant - and this listing would take too long.

23. Where do you hurt?
Well, my right forearm is a bit bruised from carrying my bags this weekend...

24. What is your favorite aisle at Wal-Mart?
N/A - I don't shop at Wal-Mart. *shivers*

25. When is your birthday?
In August.

26. What are you going to do after this?
I'm going to take my laundry out of the dryer and perhaps start making supper.

27. What is your favorite dessert?
I'm a big fan of rich, moist chocolate cake with a light, whipped chocolate
frosting.

28. Do you have the same name as one of your relatives?
No.

29. Is someone in love with you?
I sure hope not. That would be creepy...

30. Has anyone ever mistaken you for a family member?
Not visually, no.

31. Does someone like you right now?
Like like-like me? Um. I don't think so.

32. Do you know anyone in jail/prison?
Nope.

33. Do you like the color green?
Hell yeah! It's my favorite... *swoons*

34. Do you think someone is thinking about you right now?
Maybe. Why? Would it matter?

i like pleasure spiked with pain

It's meme time once again! I ganked this from affreca.

TECHNOLOGY:
Q. What is your wallpaper on your computer? A badly pixelized Kyo (from Fruits Basket) looking disturbed and red words saying, "say what?" (it's an icon stretched to fit the desktop)

Q. How many televisions do you have in your house? 1 (thank god...)

BIOLOGY:
Q. Are you right-handed or left-handed? right

Q. Have you ever had anything removed from your body? a chunk of bone from my knee, a blister from a tendon in my hand and small portions of my skin

Q. What is the last heavy item you lifted? Um...a box of water?

Q. Have you ever been knocked out? Only for surgeries.

BULLSHITOLOGY:

Q. If it were possible, would you want to know the day you were going to die? Hmmm...I guess not. I would be a wreck that last few days if I did know.

Q. If you could change your name, what would you change it to? I would not change it, except maybe to Clare.

Q. What color do you think looks best on you? PINK! and then most shades of green.

Q. Have you ever swallowed a non-food item? Coins, when I was little (and almost a tack, too)

DAREOLOGY:

Q. Would you kiss a member of the same sex for $100? Who wouldn't??

Q. Would you allow one of your little fingers to be cut off for $200,000? Depends - would there be anesthesthia available?

Q. Would you never blog again for $50,000? If they upped the payment to equal that of all of my student loans, then yes - otherwise, hell no. I like speaking to the ether too much.

Q. Would you pose naked in a magazine for $250,000? Yes. Probably for less, but I'll take more... *grin*

Q. Would you drink an entire bottle of hot sauce for $1000? Depends on what brand, but probably.

Q. Would you, without fear of punishment, take a human life for $1,000,000? This is going to sound bad, but it would depend on the method and who exactly they wanted me to kill. I'm not God - but I am human. And humans take so many lives (animal and human alike) whether they are aware of it or not.

DUMBOLOGY:

Q: What is in your left pocket? which left pocket? In my shirt, I have a laundry slip and clip-on sunglasses. In my pants I have a scrap of paper with a list of to dos on it and in the cargo pocket I have a handerkerchief and further down I have my cigarettes and a small notebook. (Be glad they didn't ask about the right side...)

Q: Is Napoleon Dynamite actually a good movie? It would be hard to say. I laughed, but I wouldn't watch it again.

Q: Do you have hardwood or carpet in your house? carpet *is sad*

Q: Do you sit or stand in the shower? I stand. But someday I'll sit when I get old.

Q: How many pairs of flip flops do you own? I think about 5.

LASTOLOGY:

Q: Last person who texted you? no body - no cell phone = no text messages

Q: Last person who called you? No one. I am unreachable. *snicker* But the kiwis were calling to me at dinner, so maybe that counts...

Q: Last person you hugged? No idea.

~-~END MEME~-~

So yeah. Haven't really blogged in a while. Emeril is playing on the tv in the background. He's doing a show all on chicken. It looks fabulous. My eyes are watering from the thought of how delicious it would be to eat anything he makes on his show. *cries tears of imaginary culinary joy*

I haven't really done much lately. I posted the second installation of the travelogue at the LJ. I am finding that I really enjoy sharing the traveling experience with people - even people who are complete strangers...

So....yup. That really is it. Hope all are well!

these arms long to hold you again

I've been thinking about how much I miss my cat lately. I miss snuggling with him and the puppy on the couch on the weekends. One thing that really brought this to my attention was when I was looking through the Lonely Planet Japan guide and saw that there is a place called Nekobukuro in Ikebukuro where you can stop by and pet cats. Stopping there for a couple of hours one of the days we are in Tokyo is going to be a must - I just miss animal companionship so much!

So Nailz and I have our basic itinerary down. Except for accommodations for Kyoto and Kumamoto, we are all set! I am looking forward to next week when everything should be finalized and then I won't feel so anxious (I hope). The trip is coming up pretty quick. I'm not going to put the dates we are going to be in Japan here on the internets, but after the trip is over, I'm sure I will post a little about what we did, where and when.

Last thing that is causing me some anxiety is getting a suitcase for the trip. I can't believe how expensive luggage is!! I will need to get one soon though, as I would like to start packing (how sad is that?) so it's not a last minute thing.

Not much else new here. Work has been kind of slow over the holidays, so some of the days have really been crawling by. Think I will check some blogs to pass the time...

OH NOES!! Another meme ganked from Nailz (who got it from Doom)...

1)Where did you begin 2007?
In a basement room with little-to-no light except for the flickering from the screen of Soul Caliber II. Oh wait - I think that might've been 2006 - who keeps track of these things anyway?

2) What was your status by Valentine's Day?
Stalking 5 hot Japanese rockers with my best friend (frostbite was definitely worth it!!)

3) Favorite movie of 07?
The Sound of Music *snickers* Since that is what I watched the most willingly and often.

4) How did you earn your money?
Like everyone else does.

5) Did you have to go to the hospital this year?
Not the hospital, no.

6) Did you have any encounters with the police?
Unfortunately, no. *drools over hot Roseville cop*

7) Where did you go on holidays?
What are holidays?

8) What did you purchase that was over $1,000?
Nothing - though I have been paying off my car loan in large chunks...

9) Did you know anybody who got married?
A couple of couples, but they all (as per the trend) got married when I couldn't possibly be there. I'm beginning to think that if I ever want to get married, I'll have to make sure I won't be able to make it.

10) Did you know anybody who passed away?
I don't think I went to any funerals last year. *checks memory* Nope - that was 2006.

11) Did you lose any friends?
Um...well, the tracking devices I implanted in my closest friends really makes that question null and void.

12) Did you move anywhere?
Yes, but I'm "moving" back this summer.

13) What concerts/shows did you go to?
Dir en Grey and I got to be in Chuck Norris's armpit for a couple of seconds - it was awesome!

14) Are you registered to vote?
Of course! Now if I could just decide for who...

15) Who did you want to win Big Brother?
Until I read Nailz's answer to this, I didn't know what the hell this question was about.

16) Where do you live now?
In the tropic of cancer.

17) What's something you thought you'd never do but did in 2007?
Got within arms reach of hot J-rockers, bought a laptop AND an mp3 player

18) What has been your favorite moment(s)?
Any moment where my stomach was full of good food and in the presence of my beloved friends, family and pets.

19) Where did you go on vacation?
Didn't we already answer this?? I'm in the tropics, every day is a vacation. *sarcasm*

20) Any new additions to your family?
No, but I would like to add some fish this year. Murphy would love them!

21) What was your favorite month?
I'm going with March as well. Anime Detour kicked butt this year and it was the last bit of real fun I had in 2007.

22) How much have you partied?
once or twice

23) Made new friends?
I have a few new ones.

24) What did you do for 4th of July?
Sat around in my underwear and bra with 15 other girls in a tent that was a sweltering 100 degrees just to escape the sun and longed for a swimming pool and a cool glass of water.

25) Favorite Night Out?
Any night not spent out - but in.

26) Name the instance in which you had most to drink:
Well, one time I drank over 6 bottles of water in a few hours, so that was pretty extreme.

27) Are you in a relationship with someone you met this year?
No, but I would like to be in a relationship with someone I met 3 years ago.

it's just a ride

Ah...so Christmas is just around the corner. It is hard to get in the spirit this year. I have been dutifully listening to my classic Christmas CDs: Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra. Even those classic songs aren't helping much. In recent years it seems that my main problem is that I don't get in to the Christmas spirit until after the day has passed - and then I want to listen to Christmas music and go around all dewy-eyed and gay.

I still have to get a gift for my secret santa person, but other than that I have been done with my Christmas shopping since before Thanksgiving and all the gifts have been dispatched to their respective recipients. I have been receiving quite a few gifts in the mail in the past week and some of them from people I didn't expect anything from.

It's a bit nerdy, but I can't wait to write thank you notes! Maybe that is what gets me into the Christmas spirit, being thankful for all of the wonderful people in my life who think so well of me as to give me a heartfelt gift!

In other news, I am sick (again). I've been feeling like crap the last few days and am hopefully on the mend.

Think that is it. Hope all are enjoying the holiday season!

your mind's a machine. it's deadly and dull

So I have finished my 6 things meme. If I remember correctly, you are supposed to post 6 "weird" random things about yourself and then tag other people. Here goes! *dusts off meme skills*

6 WEIRD THINGS ABOUT ME

1. Though I'm not superstitious otherwise, when I ride in or drive a car, I
always hold my feet off the floor while going over railroad tracks. Otherwise, I will have bad luck.

2. I practice writing with my left hand daily, because you never know when
you will lose a limb.

3. I hum a lot. I hum at work quite a bit which my co-workers have gotten
really used to. Thankfully. *sweatdrop*

4. I get really emotionally involved when it comes to some manga and anime series.
So much so that I will rant and rave when one or more characters make me
mad. According to Doom, this is pretty funny.

5. I laugh aloud to myself a lot. I think my co-workers may think I'm a little off my rocker. Also, when I type "lol", you can bet that I really did laugh out loud.

6. I'm still in love with Doogie Howser. *blushes furiously*

I tag Nat (wiredfu) and Book Kitten.
